Adult

This service is offered to adults who either have, or are at risk of inheriting, a genetic condition. This counselling service is aimed at explaining the diagnosis, how it was passed down through the family, the management options and the available support. If a genetic test has not yet been performed, the various genetic testing options, as well as the benefits and limitations of each, will be discussed. This is to ensure that the most appropriate and cost-effective test is requested. Psychosocial support is offered as well as the option of becoming part of a local support group (if applicable and desired).
